do you ever find yourself drawn to what you cannot have?

whether it be an attached member of the opposite sex, a purchase well beyond your budget, a different life, etc...

for example, it seems that a lot of people are more attracted to a member of the opposite sex after finding out that s/he is involved with someone else.

Medic, we are all drawn to those two, they are the life of the party. I would like to travel, I have always wanted to visit New Zealand and Australia. I would also like to visit Brazil during there festival. It looks like fun. MT and Fuz, I think you would both enjoy that party.

well, since I was 4 I’ve wanted a red convertable Vette. I WILL have it someday. Either 68-69 or in the 2004 area. 2005’s they screwed up by using exposed headlights. Stupidity.
At the moment, with school and everything else, THAT is the ultimately unobtainable.

eagle - I can get either for about 30K. I have a couple of airforce friends. When they were at the academy and got their first signing bonus, each bought a Vette. One was a 69 and one was a 99.

That would be a good deal on the 69 for sure, especially fi its in good shape. No I’m a Ford guy so I would prefer a Mustang. They are both valuable collector item from the sixties. Hopefully the Vette will be available when you are ready.

MT -- this is most provocative questions posted here -- thanks -- it has really got me thinking about the psychology of fantasy.

I have found that a lot of things I want turn out to be things that are not good for me -- maybe that’s the key component of why I wanted them in the 1st place -- I am drawn to the taboo -- nothing sinister like rape or pedaphelia or anything like that but simple things like -- I’d like to fuck my wife’s sister -- why? because it would really screw up my life - I know it would -- so why is screwing up my life so desireable? I fantasize about my wife fucking other men why? because it would really screw up my life -- strange isn’t it -- I’m a fairly normal stable person of reasonable income so why do I think this way?

See, I don’t get this... If I want something, then I want it, whether it is obtainable or not. The fact that I can’t have it doesn’t make it better in any way.

I remember when I was a teen this girl - she was pretty hot and I wasn’t really interested in her. She kept on after me and after me. Dropping hints with my friends how much she wanted me.
